Iyvone Khoo is a Singaporean artist living and working in London. Her work uses lens-based media as a means to capture glimpses of an experience, with the camera acting as surrogate eyes. The underlying concern of her work is to explore and express the transitory nature of her experiences. Through investigational play, she finds ways of perceiving the world, before using her discoveries to create light sculptures, installation art and video artworks. She is a current recipient of the MEAD Fellowship Award and is using her funding to collaborate with scientists from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, USA, on a science and art project studying light-emitting organisms, such as bioluminescent algae, to create a series of works.
